A haunted house in the remote town of Gansu Province

In the remote town of Gansu Province where my friend lived, there was a house that was said to be haunted by the spirits of its former occupants. The house had been passed down through several generations of a single family, but tragedy had struck each one in turn, leaving behind a legacy of sorrow and despair.

My friend’s family had recently moved into the house, unaware of its dark past. At first, they were thrilled to be living in such a beautiful and spacious home, but as time went on, strange things began to happen.

Late at night, they could hear the sound of footsteps coming from the attic, even though no one was up there. Objects would move on their own, and doors would slam shut without anyone touching them. Sometimes they would see a shadowy figure darting through the halls, disappearing just as quickly as it had appeared.

At first, they tried to ignore these strange occurrences, chalking them up to their imagination or the creaking of an old house. But as the days went on, the activity only intensified, and they knew that they had to take action.

They consulted with the locals, who told them about the house’s tragic history. Each member of the family who had lived there had met a terrible fate, from accidents to illness to suicide. The spirits of the departed were said to be still roaming the halls, unable to find rest.

Terrified, my friend’s family fled the house and never returned. They moved away from the town and never spoke of their experience to anyone else. But the memory of that haunted house would stay with them for the rest of their lives, a testament to the power of the unknown and the unseen.
