Encountering the Pale Stranger A Terrifying Ghostly Encounter in an Old Building

It was a cold winter evening, and I was in sixth grade. I had just left school and was on my way to my grandmother’s house, which was located in an old six-story building near my school. As I entered the dimly lit hallway, I could barely see my fingers in front of me. The lamps were almost broken, and the entire building looked like it hadn’t been renovated in over twenty years.

As I climbed up the staircase to the fifth floor where my grandmother lived, I suddenly noticed a figure standing outside the door opposite my grandmother’s house. It was a man, and even though it was difficult to see in the darkness, I could tell that his face was pale and lifeless. He just stood there, staring at me without saying a word.

At first, I thought he was just waiting to go downstairs, so I waited for him to move. But he didn’t budge, and the silence of the hallway was eerie. Suddenly, a chill ran down my spine, and I felt as though the air around me had turned icy cold.

As I looked at the man, I realized that he was not like anyone I had ever seen before. His height was around 170cm, and he was wearing an old overcoat. His pale face was devoid of any color or expression, and it felt as though he was looking right through me.

I tried shouting at him, hoping to scare him off, but he didn’t even flinch. I knew I had to leave, so I rushed past him as quickly as possible, knocking on my grandmother’s door frantically.

Once I was safely inside, I told my uncle about the strange encounter. He seemed surprised and said that he hadn’t seen anyone when he opened the door for me. I was even more confused and frightened at this point, wondering if I had imagined the whole thing.

Days turned into weeks, and I tried my best to forget about the incident. But every time I climbed up the staircase, I felt a shiver run down my spine. It was as though the ghostly presence of the man was still lurking around, waiting for me.

One day, while talking to my grandmother, I shared my experience with her, describing the man’s appearance in detail. As I spoke, my grandmother’s face turned pale. She revealed that a man fitting the description had been living on the sixth floor of the building. He had been a teacher who died two years ago, and no one knew the cause of his death.

Suddenly, it all made sense. The ghostly figure I had encountered on the staircase was none other than the dead teacher. From that day on, I never saw the ghostly figure again. But the memory of that eerie encounter remained with me, a reminder that sometimes the paranormal and the living world can intersect in mysterious ways.
