Forever Present The Continuing Legacy of My Grandmother's Spirit

It was the fifth day of Chinese New Year, and my family had gathered together to celebrate. We were all happy and content, except for my grandmother, who had been paralyzed in bed for the past week. We took turns taking care of her, but it was clear that her time was running out.

On the night of the third day after her passing, I began experiencing sleep paralysis. This was not unusual for me, but this time, something felt different. I had the distinct sensation that there was someone else in the room with me, someone who was staring at me. I couldn’t see anything, but the feeling was palpable.

Suddenly, I began to cry. It was an overwhelming feeling of loss and grief, as if someone had just left me forever. My father heard my cries and came to my room, staying with me through the night. The next morning, we learned that my grandmother had passed away.

At her funeral, my mother told me about a dream she had had before my grandmother’s passing. In the dream, her four sisters came to our house, happy and excited. When my mother asked them why they were so happy, they told her they were building a new house for my grandmother. But my oldest aunt added that this meant a new grave would be added to the family cemetery.

It wasn’t until a year later, on my birthday, that I had another strange dream. In it, I saw my grandmother again, and I asked her how she had gotten there. She told me that it was my birthday, so she had come to see me.

After that dream, strange things began happening in our home. Doors would open and close on their own, and we would hear footsteps and whispers when no one else was around. It was clear that my grandmother’s presence was still with us, and we began to wonder if her spirit had never truly left us.

We eventually decided to move out of the house, but even in our new home, we still feel her presence from time to time. It seems that no matter where we go, my grandmother’s spirit will always be with us.

As time went on, we began to notice more and more strange occurrences that seemed to be linked to my grandmother’s passing. For instance, whenever we visited her grave, we would often find that the flowers we had brought had been mysteriously rearranged. Sometimes they would even be in the shape of a heart or a cross.

One particularly eerie incident occurred when my sister was home alone. She heard footsteps coming from the hallway, and when she went to investigate, she found that one of the doors had been left open. She closed the door and went back to her room, but soon after, she heard the same footsteps again. This time, when she went to check, she found that the door had been opened again.

Despite these strange occurrences, we always felt a sense of comfort knowing that my grandmother was still with us. We would often talk to her as if she were still alive, telling her about our day and asking for her guidance.

As the years passed, the strange occurrences became less frequent, but we never forgot about my grandmother’s presence. Even now, years later, we still feel her watching over us, and we know that she will always be a part of our family, even in death.
