In the summer of 2018, I was in Xinjiang for the World Cup and made some money through soccer gambling. To celebrate, I invited my best friend, Qiang, to join me. During our hangout, we were introduced to a boy named Liu, whose brother, Malimu, used to be one of my best friends as well. Unfortunately, Malimu was killed by a group of men with knives.
It had been a long time since we had seen each other, so we talked about various things at first. But then, Qiang brought up Malimu, and Liu began telling us about what had happened after his brother’s passing.
He recounted an eerie experience he had a week after Malimu’s death. One night, he was sound asleep when he suddenly felt someone enter his room. The person walked over to his wardrobe and began searching for something. Liu assumed it was his mother looking for blankets and asked her what she was looking for. But, there was no response. Liu drifted back to sleep.
The next morning, at breakfast, he asked his mother why she was looking for something in his wardrobe the previous night. His mother was confused and told him that she and his father had stayed at his grandmother’s house to take care of her. Liu was shocked and confused because there was no one in the house except for him.
He quickly checked his wardrobe and found a shirt with bloodstains on it. It was Malimu’s shirt. Liu was puzzled, wondering whether his brother had come back to change his clothes that night.
A few days later, Liu returned home from a party in the middle of the night. As he walked past his brother’s room, he heard music coming from inside. he thought it was his father who had turned on the CD player, so he opened the door. But there was no one there. The CD player was playing by itself. he turned it off, thinking it might disturb the neighbors. The next day, Liu asked his father if he had turned on my brother’s CD player. He was surprised and said no, thinking it was Liu who had turned it on the previous night.
Liu was terrified by these experiences and decided to stay with his friend for a few days while his parents slept at his grandmother’s house at night. After several days, everything went back to normal when Liu and his parents returned home.
Qiang then explained that what had happened was known in Chinese folklore as the “ghostly love home.” According to legend, if someone dies outside the home, their body should not be brought back to the house. Otherwise, it is believed that the ghost of the deceased will never leave and will haunt the house forever.
The second story happened to me
It was the start of summer vacation and my girlfriend had asked me to help her with her luggage. After I had finished, I decided to take a look around her school. As I walked down the hallway towards her classroom, I noticed two washrooms side by side. I decided to use one of them while my girlfriend was chatting with her friend.
As I entered the washroom, I noticed that it was colder inside than outside. The temperature must have dropped by at least five degrees. It was clear that the washroom had not been used for a long time as spider webs covered every corner. I lit a cigarette and began to pee, feeling relieved. Suddenly, I felt someone blowing cold air on the back of my neck, sending shivers down my spine. I turned around but found no one there. A chill ran down my back, and I quickly finished my business and left the washroom.
My girlfriend noticed my change in demeanor and asked me what was wrong. I told her what had happened in the washroom, and her face turned pale. She then revealed that the washroom was known for being haunted, and that some of her male classmates had experienced paranormal encounters there.
She recounted a story from the previous year when a male classmate of hers had gone to the washroom one evening. While he was in the middle of his business, he heard a cough coming from the next compartment. Thinking that it was just another student, he struck up a conversation with him, asking if he wanted a cigarette. The man’s voice responded, “I do not need one, thank you.” The conversation continued, but when the boy asked which class the man was from, he got no response. When he finished, he knocked on the door, but there was no reply. He pushed the door open and found that the compartment was empty.
The next morning, the boy developed a high fever, and his hair stood up as he recalled the encounter from the previous night.
As I listened to her story, I realized that I too had experienced something paranormal in that washroom. The cold breath on my neck was too much to be a mere coincidence. I shuddered as I thought about what might be lurking in that washroom, and decided that it was best to stay away from it in the future.
